If I reset the device to the factory defaults, will it eliminate the factory calibration?
-
No, the calibration coefficients for each device are hard-coded.
-
ok. Not that I ever would, but I could mess up the calibration if I changed the advanced settings with the CHR Serial Interface, right?
And If I did ever do that, would RESET_TO_FACTORY fix the calibration back to the factory calibration, or would that be broken forever?

Yeah, the calibration terms can be changed. If you issue a WRITE_TO_FACTORY command, it will overwrite the saved factory settings. If that happens, we have the original .hex file for every GP9 we ship, which includes the correct calibration. Just send us an email with your serial number and we’ll send you the hex file so that you can restore all the default settings.
But, you can avoid that problem altogether by not issuing a WRITE_TO_FACTORY command. Use WRITE_TO_FLASH instead.

OK. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn’t going to mess up the calibration on accident. The WRITE_TO_FACTORY register is not even published, so I don’t think that anyone will do that.
