Accelerometer and gyro problem

by matheush » Wed Dec 22, 2010 11:59 pm

I've problem with x axis of gyro and accel. There are no readings from this axes, there are only same noises/drifts similar to this on other channels.
A screen when moving the AHRS around all axes:

The y gyro isn't working correctly also. Sometimes it works fine but after that there are only noises.

Now, the accel works like the y=-z . Readings are the same but with opposite sign.

Can you post another video of the sensor outputs when it is not moving?

Hmm, that doesn't look good. The rate gyros and accels aren't responding like they should. It may be that the A/D converter is damaged. I think we can repair this for you. Where are you located?

Can you tell me what exact type of A/D converter is being used in CHR-6dm because I would like to replace it by myself??

The A/D converter being used is onboard the microcontroller and can't be replaced without replacing the whole chip. It is the STM32F103T8. It can be replaced, but the firmware would need to be reprogrammed afterward.

Is it possible to reprogram it by RS-232?? Or bootloader has to be loaded on the board first?

Yes, it can be reprogrammed via RS-232 as long as it is passed through a level shifter first (RS-232 voltages will ruin the chip). The bootloader is built into the hardware.
