Can I force the NEMA Heading values to always be positive values?

No, but you can change them by adding 360 degrees to any negative value.

Shame, I just wanted to monitor heading from a terminal. Will have to create interface or learn to do fast math in my head. Would be great if your interface software had a simple P,R,H display.
